Our referral process

To make a referral to Sussex CAMHS, including a self-referral, the first step is to contact your local CAMHS referral point.

You, or the person referring you, may be asked to complete some forms to describe the difficulties you are experiencing and how this is impacting on your day-to-day life. This information will help to identify the type of support you need, and which service is best to help you.

Your local CAMHS referral point will either signpost you to another service that can support you or refer you to community CAMHS for an assessment.

For more information, read our referral guide.

Being seen by CAMHS

CAMHS can be really busy so there may be a bit of a wait. In the meantime, take a look at our range of resources designed to support young people with their mental health.
